TAP PROGRAM

Our studio trains using the ADAPT Jazz and Tap Program.  Our Tap program is taught in group classes but our examinations are on an individual basis.  Our Tap Director and her support staff help students progress through the Tap graded system at their own pace and as they are ready.

Our Kinder Tap students train through the ADAPT program but are not required to examine.  They prepare a recital piece for our year end showcase which takes place at Bert Church Theatre.

Students in Junior 1 Tap are considered Pre Competitive and learn their Tap syllabus in class but also a competition routine which they will perform at two competitions throughout the season.  This same routine is used to perform at our year end showcase which takes place at Bert Church Theatre.  These students have the option to examine through the ADAPT program pending recommendation.

Students in Junior 2 Tap are considered part of our Mini Program and learn their Tap syllabus in class but also a competition routine which they will perform at three competitions throughout the season.  This same routine is used to perform at our year end showcase which takes place at Bert Church Theatre.  These students have the option to examine through the ADAPT program pending recommendation.

Students in Junior 3 and above Tap are considered part of our Accelerated Program and are required to take a Tap examination each season.  They will only learn their Tap syllabus in their designated graded class.  They must take an additional class for competition choreography.  At this level students are required to take a weekly Ballet Technique class and are required to participate in a Ballet Choreography for competition as well as a weekly Tap Technique class and Tap Choreography class for competition.  The piece that is prepared for competition (3-4 per season) is then also performed at the year end showcase which takes place at Bert Church Theatre.
